Village Manager
The Village Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) appointed by the Village Council to manage the affairs of the Village. The Village Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Village, provides overall direction to, and is responsible for the management of staffing, administration, and operation of all Village Departments. It is the duty of the Village Manager to provide reports to the Council in regard to ongoing activities within the Village as well as evaluating services and making recommendations for the improvement of operations. The Village Manager is also responsible for seeking grant monies under the Councils direction and executes the Village Councils decisions.
Dan Hawkins arrived as the Manager for Kingsley following a 27 year career with the Michigan Department of Corrections, a term as Supervisor for Blackman Township near Jackson, Michigan, and served as the Senior Property Manager for the Homestead Resort in Glen Arbor, Michigan. His post graduate degrees include a Masters degree in Education from the University of Akron and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Eastern Michigan University. Dan and his wife, Carol, have three children and two grandchildren. Both Dan & Carol enjoy training for, and competing in, local kayak and running events.
